The thing is simple. Chase the carrot, earn enough for a comfortable life for your family and the next generation, and let them have the ability to chase the carrot.
Life has a beginning and an end. Unless you think of something more reproductive and meaningful to do, chase the carrot. Chase the fucking carrot.
